FISH-N-D-LIT was created over 40 years ago by a
local fisherman and his wife in response to friends
and customers visiting their Kentucky Lake Fish
Market requesting a better way to prepare fish. The
recipe quickly became a local favorite for all who
tasted it.
Pronounced "Fish and Dee Light" the spelling of the
name ties into the originator's marketing concept of
keeping everything simple.
Two flavors of FISH-N-D-LIT are available today--
Original & Hot N' Spicy. Both recipes offer a blend
of white corn meal , salt, Spanish paprika and
ground celery seed. (The spicy mix includes
additional spices for those who want more zest in
their flavoring.) Contains NO MSG!
While originally created as a breading mix for fish,
several recipes using FISH-N-D-LIT have been
developed throughout the years. Some of the most
popular uses include freshwater fish, seafood,
poultry and other meats. FISH-N-D-LIT also serves as
a delicious seasoning to such vegetables as squash,
okra, potatoes, onions and mushrooms. Beyond fried
foods, the mixes enhance flavor when baking, smoking
and grilling.
